What is IREM and what does IREM do?

The Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) is an international institute for property and asset managers. Through training, professional development, and collaboration, IREM supports our members and others in the real estate industry through every stage of their career by providing learning, certifications, and networking opportunities.

What certifications does IREM offer?

IREM offers a variety of certifications for individuals, companies, and properties.

  • Individuals: Certified Property Manager (CMP), Accredited Commercials Manager (ACoM), Accredited Residential Manager (ARM)
  • Companies: Accredited Management Organizations (AMO)
  • Properties: IREM Certified Sustainable Property (CSP)

 

What kinds of membership are available to those who haven't earned a certification?

We encourage those seeking the CPM certification to enroll as a candidate. Other membership options include Associate, Student, and Academic.

What kind of events does IREM Minnesota host?

IREM Minnesota hosts regular building tours, lunch programs, informal lunchtime educational roundtables and young professionals events Each year we have the Valued Industry Partner trade show, our golf tournament, and a celebration event. Our members volunteer monthly for People Serving People, and we also do other outreach activities. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the chapter began offering virtual coffee breaks and webinars.  Click here to view the Chapter calendar.

Are guests allowed to attend IREM Minnesota meetings and events?

Property Manager guests are welcome to attend at the non-member rate. We limit vendor attendance at our events to our IREM Industry Partners.

Do I have to be an IREM member to take education courses?

No, however, there are financial incentives for members, so it is important to evaluate the options of member rates versus non-member rates.

What is the IREM Chapter 45 Educational Foundation?

Our Educational Foundation is a permanent, dedicated endowment to provide economic support for students who express an interest in the real estate industry. After several years of fundraising to build the endowment, the Foundation began awarding scholarships in 2019 to current college students. In 2 years, the Foundation has awarded 5 scholarships totalling $10,500.

What is IREM's Industry Partner program?

IREM’s Industry Partner program is designed to foster professional relationships between chapter members and reputable service providers in the local area. This program offers service providers the opportunity to participate in chapter activities, and at the same time, helps chapter members serve their clients and employers via recommendations of quality vendors.
